Product Overview & Engineering Excellence

Our PTFE spring energized seal is designed for extreme operating environments where standard elastomer seals fail. We combine a high-performance polymer jacket with a corrosion-resistant metal energizing spring. The U-shaped jacket profile is machined from high-quality pure PTFE or filled PTFE compound and contains an internal V-spring, inclined coil spring, or helical spring.

The internal energizing device provides continuous elastic load to the sealing lip under zero or low pressure, while system line pressure further increases the contact force of the sealing lip. This dual-action sealing mechanism ensures leak-free performance under extreme temperature cycling, cryogenic temperatures, high pressures, and high dynamic speeds.

Key Performance Advantages

  • Permanent spring energization: The internal metal spring maintains a tight sealing force over time, eliminating compression set, cold flow degradation, and thermal shrinkage leakage.

  • Universal chemical resistance: PTFE jackets are completely inert in the full pH range, resistant to strong acids, alkalis, solvents, and corrosive gases.

  • Extreme temperature range: It can reliably operate continuously from cryogenic extreme cold to high industrial process temperatures.

  • Ultra-low friction, no stick-slip: Provides smooth motion and low starting torque for control valves, hydraulic actuators, and precision metering pumps.

  • High pressure resistance: When used with a support ring, it can operate from vacuum to very high pressure without extrusion.

Materials and energy configurations

  • Sleeve material: Pure PTFE, carbon-filled PTFE, bronze-filled PTFE, graphite-filled PTFE, or ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene for extreme wear resistance.

  • Spring-energized alloy: 301/304 stainless steel, 316 stainless steel, Elgiloy or Hastelloy for highly corrosive environments.

  • Spring profile: V-spring (meander type) for linear reciprocating seals, inclined coil springs for low-friction rotary seals, and coil springs for static face seals.

  • Sealing direction: Rod seals, piston seals, inner face seals, and outer face seals.

Main application

  • Control and safety valve: Heavy-duty valve stem packing and body seals for cryogenic LNG, ball valves, and control valves.

  • Oil and gas downhole tools: High-pressure, high-temperature drilling equipment, rotary joints, and subsea valve assemblies.

  • Pharmaceutical and medical pumps: Dispensing pumps, chromatography equipment, and cleanroom metering valves require inert, contaminant-free seals.

  • Aerospace and cryogenic technology: Rocket propellant valves, liquid nitrogen equipment, and aircraft hydraulic actuators.

Quality assurance, inspection and packaging

  • 100% dimensional and spring retention inspection: Verify outer diameter, inner diameter, cross-section, and spring alignment using digital calipers and profile projectors.

  • Cleanroom surface inspection: Check under optical magnification to ensure the sealing lip edge is free of burrs, nicks, or surface contamination.

  • Protective logistics packaging: Individually sealed polybags, placed in compartmentalized protective boxes, to maintain lip geometry and spring integrity during transportation.
